The first day

08:00AM

There is a long day ahead, so we recommend a pick up time of 08:00AM, but since it is a private tour, you can choose your own pick up time. The driver will collect you from your hotel in Fes.

09:30AM

We've driven out of Fes and south, into the Middle Atlas mountains, and we've reached a small town called Ifrane. This village feels like it belongs in Switzerland, not Morocco, due to its European-style architecture and ski resort.

10:30AM

We'll also stop in a nearby village called Azrou, before continuing our journey south and into the Sahara desert. From here, the landscape will change quickly and dramatically.

12:30PM

Welcome to Midelt, a town of about 50,000 people on the Saharan desert plains, in the middle of the Middle Atlas and High Atlas mountain ranges. Here is a good place to have some lunch and Moroccan tea.

15:30PM

It has been a beautiful drive and we have now arrived in Errachidia, an oasis desert town which is surprisingly green in an otherwise golden sea of sand. This is deep in the Moroccan desert, and off the beaten tourist trail.

17:30PM

Welcome to Merzouga, hopefully just in time for sunset! This is where we will be staying tonight. The dunes are famously beautiful, especially at sunset and sunrise.

Overnight in Merzouga

If you would like to organise your hotel through us, you can select from our accommodation options during the booking process. If you want to organise your own accommodation, that's fine too!

The second day

10:00AM

Your driver will pick you up from your hotel in Merzouga after breakfast, and we will start the drive west, towards Marrakech.

13:00PM

Welcome to Todra Gorge, a stunning red canyon with towering cliffs. This dry river is one of the highlights of the tour, and is an excellent opportuntiy for some photos! If you are hungry, you can also have lunch here.

16:00PM

We have now reached Dades Gorge. This is another stunning canyon, cut from the Dades River. We will reach here before sunset, so you can explore with daylight. We will stay here tonight.

Overnight in Dades

If you would like to organise your hotel through us, you can select from our accommodation options during the booking process. If you want to organise your own accommodation, that's fine too!

The third day

09:00AM

After breakfast, it's time to head west again. Today is the final day, and we will finish in Marrakech in the evening, but there are many things to see first.

11:00AM

We have now arrived in Ouarzazate, the most important city before the Sahara Desert and nicknamed "The Door of the Desert". Here you can visit the stunning 19th century palace, and the Taourirt Kasbah.

14:00PM

Just down the road from Ouarzazate, we will reach an alien-looking red town called Ait Benhaddou. This town is an ancient, fortified village, and has been used as a filming location for many films and TV series.

17:30PM

We have climbed a long way into the High Atlas mountains, and we have now reached the Tizi n'Tichka pass. This is at an altitude of 2,260m, and is one of the highest roads in Morocco.

19:30PM

Unfortunately, the tour must end here! We are back in Marrakech, and your driver will drop you off at your hotel and say goodbye.
